1 Kg Stewing Steak Diced

2 Tbs. Tomato Paste

½ Cup Tomato Sauce

1 Tbs. Malt Vinegar 

3 Tbs. Sugar

¼ tsp. Mustard

1 tsp. Worchestershire Sauce

¼ tsp. Ginger

1 Tbs. White Wine

½ tsp. Mixed Spice

½ tsp. Curry Powder

Juice and Rind of 1 Lemon

2 Onions Chopped 

½ Dozen Button Mushrooms sliced

A few Rashers of Bacon sliced

Salt and Pepper to taste



Mix all ingredients and cook at 160°C for about two hours.

Note: mix it in the casserole dish.  Stir the casserole half an hour before serving and put a lid on.  You can add a couple of Tbs. of cornflour if you want to thicken the meat juice.
